Saturday, January 12, 2013 - Opened and let it sit in the bottle for two hours. Dark ruby red claret with good legs. With the aeration, wonderful nose with layers of perfumed florals, signature of the appellation. Cocoa, licorice, cinnamon, dark fruits, with a hint of mint and roses. In agreement with other recent tasters that the touch on palate is gentle, feminine. Medium bodied texture, tannins have graciously integrated, with brilliant balance and tasty feel in the mid section. Taste of cherry, plum, cigar, sweet spices and minerals, plush texture with medium acidity to round the palate. If the finish could have been longer, it'd be fantastic, yet the finish has good amount of tobacco and sweet floral scents in it.

This wine should be or has just entered its peak period, and offers a great drinking enjoyment. Unfortunately wouldn't finish the bottle, and used a bottle saver for the next day. Some oxidation was there, but most of the aromatics and structure remained, enjoyed with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese making the sunday afternoon just that much more relaxing =)
