Monday, February 18, 2013 - Opened with Darioush Cab 09, Conn Valley 06, Togni Tanbark Hill 02 and Columbia Crest Resv 07. While all are great, this 05 Quilceda second label had the most room to run. Still incredibly young, it was decanted for over 7 hours. The nose started out very closed down with leather, tobacco lead pencil and cigar box. Over time the black currant, blackberry and black cherry emerged. This wine clearly has many years left but if you can't wait, give it a good overnight decant at cellar temp and you'll be rewarded for patience.
