Community Tasting Note

Monday, April 1, 2013 - From two feet away from the glass, I can smell the pure cassis notes soon after uncorking. Palate follows the nose and is dark, rounded on the sides from some age, but somewhat compact and not as resolved texturally as I would have liked. There are some oak notes, but they are not too overt, and the wine as a whole is integrating nicely, but still I would give this five to ten more years. With air, the blue cassis profile turns red, with cherry and red currants on the palate, along with soft tannin and nice, buoyant acidity. Really nice finish, too. Certainly enjoyable, shows rather youthful. Bought on release. Goodbye, Peanut.
