Sunday, April 14, 2013 - A striking, opaque, dark crimson in color. Has a gorgeous Rhone-like nose of plums, violets, earth, vanilla and spice. Full-bodied, rich and very silky in texture. There's terrific depth and concentration to its plum and black currant flavors. The long, long finish is dripping with tangy, dark fruit and the ultra-fine tannins are beautifully integrated. A big wine - but so balanced, velvety and refined. Without a doubt the best Oreno I've ever tasted. The massive, monolithic '06 may eventually be as good as this. Time will tell.
