Tuesday, June 11, 2013 - Visit to Beaucastel (Chateau de Beaucastel): Very ripe and oak driven nose. Quite a wine. Reminiscent of a heavily oaked white burg. Sweet nectarine, honey attack. Palate is viscous with almond, apricot. Despite telling us it was fermented to dryness palate is perceptibly quite sweet. Long fresh baked marzipan finish. Quite liked this and thought it was the best white of the trip despite it's modern leanings.
