Sunday, July 14, 2013 - Popped and poured, and then drank over two days. This comes in an old-style bottle with the Federation crest, rather than the unique Clos des Papes emblem. This color is a nice, rich red that shows no signs of aging. There is some minimal sediment at the end of the bottle. The nose carries red fruit, herbs, soil, and just a bit of raisin—it’s a really nice nose. The wine is smooth and sweet in the mouth, with just a touch of acid. The finish reminds one of the ripe and wonderful wine just consumed. Overall, this is in a very nice place and is an enjoyable bottle of CdP. 93 points.
