Very forward and accessible for a 1996 with charming (mostly) black and blue fruit and classically Volnay spice and perfume. Moderate length and intensity but very good balance with sweet fruit and spice. At its peak now with good freshness, but I expect this will continue at this quality level for at least another decade while evolving.
