Monday, August 26, 2013 - Flight 1, Bordeaux, Wine 4 (blind): The wine was very dark purple in colour. It offered ripe, candied fruit, blackberry, spices and some pepper on the nose. On the palate the medium- to full-bodied wine showed ripe dark fruit, blackberry, dark cherry and spices, paired with well-integrated medium-plus acidity, medium-plus smooth tannin and very good length. The 15% ABV was surprisingly well contained. A ripe blockbuster style with lots of oak, but without question very well made. Needs some time; start drinking from 2016. 89 for now, with potential to improve.
