Saturday, October 12, 2013 - The first pour featured a big nose of oak. The nose and palate were both comprised of muddled dark fruits and cedar spice with a choco-mint note emerging after a few hours. Tannins were fine and unobtrusive. Paired with pizza, though given the forward nature of the wine, likely would have worked sans food too. Needs a couple more years to integrate the oak.
