Saturday, January 4, 2014 - Davyd's 31st Birthday Celebration (Goodwood Park Hotel): Tasted blind. Interesting complex nose, with Chinese herbs, green mint, and dried flowers. Herby palate, with green capsicums and almost (but not) veering into vegetal territory. Some chalky minerality on the palate. Smooth rounded mouth-feel with a medium finish. I guessed a Left Bank Bordeaux with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc dominant. Not bad, just missed out the Merlot component. Tastes older than it really is, my take on this is drink up soon.
