Wednesday, February 12, 2014 - Wildman 2012 Burgundy Preview and Barrel Tastings (New York, NY): Tasting pour. Holy mother of God this was the wine of the whole tasting. Effing gorgeous mineral nose almost reminiscent of Styrofoam, spice out the wazoo, stems adding complexity, take me now Lord. Wooow. Need a cry and a nap after this. Debated about trying to purchase a bottle.

10/23/2015 2:47:00 AM - I am not surprised. For years critics criminally underscored this wine, '93 and '96 Ruchottes would prove my point.

10/24/2015 11:20:00 AM - I was chatting with a caviste in Beaune, and he was trash-talking Rousseau (deriding manipulation, filtration, some other shit) and when I said, "Yeah...I don't know...the Ruchottes Chambertin was pretty godly", he immediately smiled and replied, "Ah, well, that makes me happy that you bring up the Ruchottes; that's one of their best wines". Really marked me.

10/26/2015 4:48:00 AM - Thanks to your note, I picked up a 6 pack of this wine even though I have not bought any Rousseau wines for years now. Prices are getting out of whack as I used to get annual allocation of this wine at $350 pounds a case. lol.
