Thursday, March 14, 2013 - Shared with my wife, P, W and SS over a lovely dinner at LP Tetsu. Upon opening, a really musty and funky nose which blew off after 30 minutes. Color was ruby, with a tawny rim. The nose developed into something floral, reminding you of a Chambolle more than a powerful Vosne. On the palate, the wine was mindblowing. It was extremely layered, complex and long, it didnt have the power of a Richebourg, or the spice and silkiness normally associated with a Vosne. Nevertheless there was good matured fruit, slightly leathery with hints of earth and mushrooms. It was sensational while it lasted. After a couple of hours (not decanted), the wine slowly faded. I am convinced this was a good bottle, but perhaps it doesnt have the legs to run the distance to its 30th birthday. A great treat and my very first DRC!
