Saturday, April 12, 2014 - Three Burgundies and a Swiss (with a sweet Rheinhessen Riesling to finish) (Our place, Bern, Switzerland): Tasted blind against three others.
Medium-light garnet red.
Red berries, with a twist I can't describe in words. But fine, elegant, somewhat restrained. Good body, intensity and liveliness. Very good, savory. Strong tannins, the most tannic of the lot.
In the following three days it developed and went towards tobacco in its aromatic, perhaps with some other spices too. On the palate it was juicy ans austere at the same time, and the tannins never really mellowed.
Wait a few more years before opening the next.
