Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - Beautiful powerful wine, with firm, mouth puckering tannins that needs a good 2 hours decant before even tasting the first glass. Drunk last night with some very nice grass fed beef and complemented nicely with flavors of minerality, mushroom/terroir, crushed wild berries and espresso! delicious and definitely age worthy. 2004 was great for this wine.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

10/12/2014 7:51:00 AM - Had my second (and last) bottle last night and boy what a difference five months make. This bottle was smooth with silky berry flavors, no minerality but yes some mushroom and espresso at the long long long finish.... Outstanding! Hardly needed any decanting, good from the opening. Interesting how it evolved in the past 5 months. I would say this wine is drinking great right now.
