Sunday, June 22, 2014 - The 2004 Delamotte Blancs de Blancs emerges from the glass with a delicate and compelling bouquet of lemon, pear and smoky autolytic complexity. On the palate this wine is notably more conservative in dosage than its non-vintage siblings, and it's all the better for it, showing off a firm core of crisp fruit, stony minerality, and a great deal of blanc de blancs character. Still tight-knit, several years in the cellar is in order here.
