I remember trying this beauty in the 2008 vintage a little back and quite frankly, I was surprised (tasted blind) by how young this showed, though it opens up beautifully!! Super classy, pure with tight energy; lemony, salty citrus-based aromas and flavors with chalky minerality that develops really nicely. Floral perfume in the mouth provides interest to the otherwise fine, linear fruit. Widens with air time and should age very well. A few people thought it could be an '08 Blanc de Blancs.

This was lovely. Has a rich hint of yeast/brioche at the beginning, with a fruit blossom aroma on the palate, soft citrus notes on the finish -- initially a bit disjointed. Very fine mousse that gives this bottle an extraordinary foamy mouthfeel. After some time the blossom and citrus aromas became seamlessly integrated which improved the finish.

Nose with light autolytics and lemon, full mousse, fine bead with persistent effervesce in the mouth, palate had a touch of honey, ripe apple, subtle citrus and even more subtle autolytic notes, good acidity, medium body, feels a touch sweet on attack perhaps a bigger dosage? Overall showing great, still not at full maturity, will aim for 2024 for my next bottle. 91-92+

Youthful, almost painfully so, but this was quite a pleasure nonetheless. The nose was very BdB, with white fruit, lemons and mineral touched with a bit of yeast. On the palate, a fine mousse and bright acidity frames an easygoing mouthful of white melons and sweet lemon flavours. There was a nice depth and balance to it, making it a delight to drink. This will be very nice in a decade or so.

Some Excellent Mixed Whites at Martina (Martina, Mpls): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over an hour plus. A good contrast to the '02 Clouet Dream. This was right up my alley, elegant and toasted, nutty and fresh, pear, pear galette, this too has a great texture, more creamy with great acid, bright stone minerals and freshness giving this nice lift and energy. Super dry and tart at the pop but boy did it fill out wonderfully after an hour open. Very light, crystalline straw color with vibrant, large-bubbled mousse. Wet cement and warm biscuits with lemon jello bouquet. So refreshing, yet it has an amazing depth and nuance in the background. I'm not an expensive Champagne drinker by any means, but at the roughly $75 for this, I'd say this is excellent on the qpr scale. 5+12+18+9= 94

Not as much roundness and depth as we had hoped for from a blanc de blancs given the age. Straightforward, apples, lemons, minerals on the nose; clean on the palate. Classically clean and sharp. A bit too high toned and lacking in complexity for my taste.

Starting to seriously mature. Rounded out and fleshy mouthfeel. Creamy notes. This wine is all about texture now. It's lost some of the previous grace but added so much more in intensity. Acid and freshness still present but I think this is drinking at peak. Excellent.
Pretty lemon notes with citrus oils with nice bristly texture. A bit ripe, but quite nice. A slightly fatter Salon styled wine. Has time, but guessing in the window to drink now.

CIVC Champagne Tasting 2015: 7 g/l residual sugar. Jumps out of the glass with gun smoke, ripe pear and pineapple. Quite rich in style, there is a bit of cut to it but the roundness definitely shows through. Very nice, but a wine for the short-medium term only.

(Disgorged spring of 2014) Light yellow colour with a nice stream of fine bubbles. Delightful nose showing youthfulness with notes of brazli nut, flint and citrus. The palate is typical for a youthful Le Mesnil showing minerals. Very fresh and fruity with notes of acacia and lime peel in the long finish. Perfect on a warm sunny day like this!

Bubble Bash 2014 (Pier A Harbor House): All chardonnay with a dosage of around 5 grams. Pours a golden straw color with long legs. Quite viscous. On the nose are citrus, lemongrass, brioche and candied strawberries. A rather masculine, mineral-backed structure on the palate, with a rustic backbone. Somewhat soft, but the palate brings forth notes of lemon, mint and creme brulee. Quite creamy with much complexity. Acid is low but the finish is fresh and long. Pleasant surprise of the night as well. This is the essentially the declassified wine from Salon, when the year does not produce grapes deemed worthy of the Salon cru.

The 2004 Delamotte Blancs de Blancs emerges from the glass with a delicate and compelling bouquet of lemon, pear and smoky autolytic complexity. On the palate this wine is notably more conservative in dosage than its non-vintage siblings, and it's all the better for it, showing off a firm core of crisp fruit, stony minerality, and a great deal of blanc de blancs character. Still tight-knit, several years in the cellar is in order here.

Excellent. Green apple and lemon in a full bodied champagne frame. Racy acidity and lift. Really enjoyable on a warm day. Highly recommended.

Good champagne but a bit too bitter acidity for my taste. There is fruit alright but the aftertaste is dominated by acidity. I believe it will improve with time.

Hits the spot with a balance of acidity, mineral richness and round honeyed notes. In a good place right now but would be lovelier in a few years as the secondary stuffing shows itself.

Delicious blanc de blancs. Sometimes this bottling really overperforms, but I'd say this was just really good rather than exceptional. Still, high in refreshment value and a great pairing with a wide variety of food.

This is very much a chablis-styled champagne. Golden yellow it has lemon-lime citrus, broken stone and a laser like focus. Precise it is without question a chardonnay champagne. Very enjoyable and aging exceptionally well.
