Saturday, September 20, 2014 - From 1 parcel of 70 year old vines, Grand Cru Avize Chardonnay grapes, 60% 2009 and 40% 2008. Spectacular juice that really performs better in a white boredeaux glass and opens incredibly with air. Intitially you get a very slight yeasty toastyness and then that laser like graphite precision. With time in the glass becomes rounder and fruit really shines. Completely different style compared to the 2006 Gimonnet Cuvee Fleuron which is creamier but I love it in a different way. Is there a better value then great grower Champagne, I think not!
