Saturday, October 4, 2014 - Decanted 3.5 hours before pairing with baked rigatoni and spicy Italian sausage. A dark ruby with crimson edges, the wonderful nose was of dark cherries, black currant, violets, licorice, and oak spices. Excellent density, intensity and concentration on the palate, with juicy well-integrated tannins and excellent supporting acidity. Very enjoyable, moderately long finish. Still a bit young, but the extended decant helped a lot and can't imagine it much better than this. But, more bottles put away and will follow.
