Saturday, March 21, 2015 - The wine is popped and dcanted for half a day before drinking. It pours an inky garnet color with the slightest hint of rust. On the nose, the wine exhibits a jammy and floral bouquet of cherries, blueberries, minerals, prunes and mushrooms. The concentration of the nose is quite potent, no less because of the remarkable extraction. On the palate, silky tannins hit the tongue first before the wine glides down the throat with the tinkling heat of the alcohol. Again, fruits dominate the core of the palate with tertiary notes of mint, spice, eucalyptus and potpourri. Finish is rather long, lasting half a minute and dominated by minerals and balanced acidity. Fabulous wine.
