Sunday, April 5, 2015 - 5 years since I last had this wine, and definitely worth the wait (but don't wait too much longer CT'ers). Extremely dark garnet-purple with great legs/viscosity. Nose of pepper, wet stones, smoky meats, subtle raspberry and bramble. Pepper & mineral still dominate the palate, but there are tons of layers, from black cherry and wild berries, to dusty herbs, dried purple flowers, and touches of oak & cedar. Dense and chewy still after all these years, though not really heavy. Finish is long at a minute plus. Absolutely excellent with Santa Maria style tri tip steak!
