Wednesday, June 17, 2015 - In magnum. Substantial nose of cassis and roses with a background of tar. Palate is full of bright fruit with a spicy component right up front. Also has a darkness and chewiness flavors with a strong backbone of acidity. The tannins come in early and provide quite a hit of dryness. Seems that this large format is a little less evolved than the last bottle that was less than the typical stellar quality. Classic brilliant Barolo that is a pleasure to drink.
