85 Points

Sunday, November 11, 2007 - Explosive nose of dark cherries, clove and a bit of cotton candy. On the palate it comes across confected and one dimensional. This is my second bottle of the 2003 RRV and tonight's experience was consistent with the first. It is an intriguing cocktail wine as the flavors are intense and it has a nice velvety mouthfeel...but ultimately exhausting. In this vintage I think the Sonoma Coast is a vastly superior wine.
