Thursday, August 20, 2015 - Showed a lot of oak upon opening and splash decanting helped. Followed over 4-5hrs. Dark fruited, with a plum chocolate spice nose. Palate had a little more lift than the nose, with a profile more toward red, fine sandy tannins that turn slightly dry on the finish but never bitter. Moderate the long length, repeating cedar spice notes, hint of chocolate, and gravel. Good, though slightly more in an "international" style than I would prefer--but still a delicious wine. Drink with decant or hold for short to medium term as its drinking plateau is near. It did get fresher and more vibrant through the evening.
