Tuesday, December 29, 2015 - {screwcap, 14%} Warm-palated wine, tasting of spice, blackberries, milk chocolate with a touch of vanilla oak. It has low/medium dusty tannins and refreshingly medium acidity, not hugely advanced for 8 years old, but nonetheless somewhat hollow in its ripe black flavours. There’s a little spice to lift it, but it tastes rather more of aging red fruit rather than true aging complexity. On the plus side, there’s no sign of the unripe green character which sometimes shows in shiraz from R. Seems like it will keep further, but is there any point?
