Wednesday, January 27, 2016 - I'd say this wine is evolutionarily consistent with the previous notes. At this point, 15 years down the line, it has achieved peak bottle maturity (or just past), and with it, a deep garnet color with reddish orange brick toward the rim. The palate follows the nose as it captures a deep ripe sweet wood, almond and nut oil, melted prunes and raisins. Good clarity and tannic resolution with this 2001 Ciro. I say a proud effort. Others don't agree that it's in a good place. True on the palate though. This is a nice wine.
