Thursday, June 16, 2016 - PNP. cork perfect. color dark garnet. nose has dark cherry and anise framed by earth and iodine. swishing shows mostly acid structure, and a relatively terse moderately tannic finish. sipping gives more pleasure, with toney fruit that seems older than actual age. this seems maybe a tad overripe and is maturing early? good but I prefer the village marsannay to this from this vintage. recent acquisition from LA wine shop so maybe victim of storage?
