90 Points

Monday, June 27, 2016 - Easily seen through. Mainly garnet color Great old world nose with dried fruit, raspberry. violets and a touch of earthiness. Initial mouth feel is light and relatively thin. Then the fruit kicks in with blueberry leading followed by berries and oaky fine grained tannic bitterness which grows and then dominates. Very dry. Needs more time - years.... Will be beautiful when the tannins mellow and integrate. but for now it suffers a bit IMO. Will try decanting... A bit of aeration did miracles and brought the wine into better balance. May have to buy a couple of bottles to age.
