Wednesday, September 21, 2016 - Dark and borderline brooding. Rich, enchanted aromas of menthol and cherry. Tasty palate of hoisin sauce, earth laced dark thick fruits and a somewhat candied quality. Long finish with a dollop of alcohol. This is not so Volnay (I look for haunting spider-webby silkiness), and seems more about vintage and ripeness than anything else. I'd guess new world blind.
