Saturday, October 15, 2016 - Significantly paler red color than the '91 Mongeard-Mugneret Grands Ech served side by side. A soft, elegant nose of brighter red fruits with a prominent woodsy-stem note that is quite pleasing. Over a few hours the fruit profile became noticeably darker. Huge Vosne spice on the nose and palate. Beautiful texture in the mouth. Really firing on all cylinders right now--persistent finish. This wine will last for years to come, but really is drinking quite well at present.
