Thursday, November 17, 2016 - Double decanted several hours before serving and notes are from the second night of tasting. Initial nose and flavors of plums, touch of wood, cassis, spices, and touch of caramel. Soft round tannins in the mid-range and long finish. This is an excellent Rioja that takes to time to open up and requires decanting and breathing but has excellent balance, good acidity, and considerable complexity. Wish I had more than I do.
