93 Points

Tuesday, November 22, 2016 - A very beautiful example of the varietal; in a near-perfect drinking window. Displaying finessed flavors of black raspberry, blackberry, purple berry/plum, and hints of blueberry. Subtle asphalt notes as well.

Missing just a little complexity for me in terms of secondary olive, charcoal, and mineral notes sometimes found in upper end PSs. This was a little more of a red/black profile versus the purple/blue/black fruit that I tend to prefer.

93 points from me. My other half thought it was a 95+, stating it was one of the most balanced and smooth PSs she had ever tasted. A solid PS, especially for the QPR. Not as intense as the Palisades series, but still noteworthy. Paired great with gojuchang meatballs.

11/23/2016 3:35:00 PM - Although it was fairly giving and accessible on PnP, I gave it about an hour of air in a wide-bottomed decanter at 54 degrees before I really started digging into it. After an hour of air is when it really smoothed out and got into its glide. I followed it over the course of a total of three hours. Once it got that first hour of air, it didn't change much through the final sips a couple of hours later.

All in all, I'd say the proper treatment would be to pop the cork, throw it in a decanter at cellar temperature for at least an hour, and then enjoy after it's had an hour of air. Hope that helps.
