Sunday, November 27, 2016 - Deeply colored for a Pernand. Reticent nose. Tart entry not showing much fruit but with plenty of green tannins in the finish. Has a salty character, almost like a grenache-based wine from the northern Rhône. Disappointing due to lack of fruit. Is that because of the vintage? Is the dark color and lack of fruit due to newer clones that do well in warmer climes like California but are unsuited for Burgundy? Hopefully time will tell.
