Monday, February 13, 2017 - The nose is elegant with spices, red fruits especially plums. On the palate, Ultra smooth, with black fruits, earth, granite, tobacco notes. Medium to medium low acidity, medium dry. Knowing that I was going to open this for dinner (served with BBQ smoked ribs, sautéed spiced potatoes and grilled asparagus) I opened it in the morning first thing, and let it breathe all day. Then decanted it one hour before service. The results were supple and smooth but not weak, definitely a robust wine. What's most interesting is it speaks more of an old world cab from Bordeaux than a central coast blend from Napa. Wonderful wine.
