Sunday, April 2, 2017 - Although slightly past its prime the 2000 Brogan Russian river Pinot noir was delicious. Medium body, medium alcohol with a brickish color. The nose still has fresh raspberries aromas poking out from earthy loam and used paperbacks. The wine still exhibits an energetic acidity and sexy texture. The reserve that was enjoyed about 6mo ago exhibited greater complexity and concentration and was probably in the prime of its drinking window. It is only in comparison that this wine seems deficient if slightly elderly.
