Wednesday, June 28, 2017 - Tasted blind. Bright, medium yellow, with a greenish hue. The tears are medium. The nose is clean, with baked apple, pear, citrus, apple blossoms, dried herbs, wax, honey, smoke and a touch of petrol. The nose is developing (+). The palate is off-dry, with medium (+) acidity and medium alcohol (13%). The palate is consistent with the nose, except that is shows additional minerality (crushed rock), organic earth notes (compost) and wet wool funkyness. Fairly classic, slightly-aged Chenin Blanc. It is in its optimal drinking window and should continue to show well for a couple more years.
