Friday, August 11, 2017 - Medium-dark crimson color. Very tertiary Bordelais nose, with musty sous bois aromas, kumato tomatoes, and slate. The palate has the intense mineralic flavors of rocky soil, though there's not a great deal of fruit remaining here. This finishes moderately long, with still jaunty acidity. I worry that this is starting to lapse into the kind of dry fruitlessness which afflicts Italian wines from the more austere vintages such as this one. I'd drink up any remaining inventory in the near future.
