Friday, October 6, 2017 - Dark, inky purple. Dark fruit primary on the nose, with a bit of hazelnut and vanilla. Very smooth in the mouth, coats the palate. The fruit, dark cherries, plums and cassis, dominates, but there is structure, soft, almost playful tannins. Long finish. I think this could be a reasonably serious wine, but served at Jon’s rehearsal dinner, it was quite the crowd pleaser, hence the three bottles.
