2014 Château Montrose

Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, November 14, 2017 - This is a super wine, and due to the uneven reputation of the vintage, it sells for a very fair price. However, the wine is already starting to shut down, so if you are thinking of tasting a bottle in its youth, to get the most out of the fresh, sweet, earthy, tobacco and cassis charms, full body and regal tannins, I suggest you pop a cork on this before the year runs out.

11/14/2017 11:06:00 AM - I've only got 4 bottles so I may wait and see this wine on the flip side...But maybe I'll pick up some more, since Montrose is a personal favorite!

4/9/2019 8:14:00 PM - Jeff - how long do you estimate this wine will stay shut down before starting to emerge?

4/10/2019 10:34:00 AM - It is an early drinking vintage, but Montrose is one of the most age-worthy wines. so if it was me, I would wait until 2014, if you can
