Tuesday, May 18, 2004 - If you like acidic, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, this is not the wine for you. The first thing to notice is the deep gold color of the wine, much more consistent with chardonnay than sauvignon blanc. On the nose, the classic lemon grass, green apple, and pear scents of sauvignon blanc appear. On the palate, creamy vanilla and oak dominante only to be washed away by a refreshingly acidic finish. This is an unusual sauvignon blanc made in the style of many California reserve chardonnays. An enjoyable bottle but not my favorite sauvignon blanc.
