92 Points

Monday, November 20, 2017 - From a 375. Golden color, appropriate for its age; nose is aromatic, tropical fruit, plenty of botrytis spice, still some vanilla, oak from youth; palate is rich, full bodied, medium sweetness, acidity is moderate and isn't as bracing as I remember it young, orange peel bitterness in midpalate; finish is medium-long with some oak. The aromatics on this are still very youthful, but the palate is in an awkward middle phase. Still enjoyable, but I think this will develop into a much better wine in 10 years. 92+
Day 2: Aromatics still have plenty of tropical fruit, but the oak has significantly integrated, lovely spice; palate is rich, full bodied, slight bitterness and heat through the midpalate. Next bottle in at least 5, probably better in 10 years for more integration and more developed character. I do think I can see beyond the awkwardness today to a really fine wine, with time.
Day 3: Served a bit more chilled, but it comes across largely the same as before.
