Seems a bit forward and overdone at first, with syrupy cherry cola, beef jerky, holiday spices, umeboshi, and prunes on the nose. But on the palate, the texture is supple, and the wine is more or less balanced. Some red fruits peak through toward the finish. Maybe a tad heavy for my tastes, but to its credit, the wine does keep changing in the glass.
