Thursday, January 4, 2018 - Opened with 4 hour decant plus 1 hour in the glass. Medium to darkish ruby in the glass. The nose is rich and generous - cherry, berries, leather, tobacco, and lovely spicy floral notes - all of which carries over to the palate revealing an exceptional Sangiovese full of cherries, berries, tobacco, with chocolate mocha & spice notes all wrapped in a nicely integrated, smooth mouthfeel and long lingering finish. Still young - another two years+ in the cellar will reward the patient. [SnowBound 2017 event]
