Saturday, January 6, 2018 - There are signs of progress towards maturity in the beautiful colour of this wine. I suspect that it's in a very good place at the moment, with a nose of intense cherry fruit and burnt wood, and palate of subtle acidity, liquorice, black pepper, bitter cherry and smooth tannin. It's intriguing to think that this kind of complexity can come from one grape. It's so different to good claret and other great reds, but it's a beautiful, beautiful wine.
