Thursday, February 1, 2018 - Coravin'd for 2 hours. Another deeply pigmented 2005, tapering from a clear rim through a crimson transition to an opaque core. Firm but complex aromas include pan roasted herbs and sweet spices with an undertow of perfectly ripe red and black fruit. Focused and expansive on the palate, the flavors are of freshly baked cherries and cranberries that are lifted by bright, juicy acidity. The tannins are there but very well absorbed. Very long and profound. It's time to start looking at the all these '05s. Drink now through 2024.
