94 Points

Tuesday, February 20, 2018 - Thought 2011 and I will never become friends, but this Brunnenhäuschen from Phillip Wittmann was a real stunner. The intense nose shows a nice mix of ripe yellow stone fruit, citrus, herbs and tons of wet stones. Lots of intensity also on the palate. You can feel the warmer vintage here with the bit more of power on the mid-palate, although the fruit is more withdrawn. Very juicy, long with a vibrant, salty finish. Definitely one of the best 2011 I had to date. Still some potential left for a even better rating in 5-10 years. 94+
