Thursday, March 15, 2018 - French WTDS at Bellecour (Bellecour, Mpls, MN): Medium gold plus color. Drank 1 glass over an hour plus. Maybe I've just never hit the perfect bottle of '90 Dom, but I have never been fully enamoured of it. This bottle was bought on release and well stored, and it was in very good shape for almost 28 years. The requisite aged notes are there, and I like some of the previous comments about bruised red apple fruit. I think that is fairly accurate. There is a nice floral character in the nose along with some almond. On the palate this has a honeyed quality to it with a stronger nutty quality probably more akin to hazelnut or walnut. Apple, baked apple, lively still, and has weight, brioche, chalk and apple skin carry through on the finish. There is still has a fairly nice bead. Mild oxidative character. Certainly a cerebral bottle. Steve O's bottle and a bonus bottle at that - a truly fun treat to have this again - thanks so much for sharing this.
