Sunday, May 13, 2018 - 2 hours of decanting was not nearly enough time to allow this wine to express itself. The initial nose and mouthful exposed the large percentage of cab franc in the wine. It is all red fruit, red licorice, tobacco, pencil lead, with a tart somewhat herbaceous edge.
Tried again 12 hours later and the green edge was gone, leaving a beautiful expression of what a cab sauv and cab franc blend can do together. Almost like biting into a perfect strawberry covered with dark chocolate. Long, savory aftertaste.
