91 Points

Thursday, June 3, 2004 - Deep ruby wine with big floral nose of violets, dark fruit, spicebox and a touch of mint with no oak or woody tones at all. Very juicy mouthfeel with lots of fruit and plenty of fine tannins. Widens on the mid-palette with notes of pencil lead, shoe leather and rich fruit. Moderately long finish. I really do like this better than the regular L-R bottling (both 95 and 96). Very enjoyable now, the tannins will probably resolve a bit more through 2006-7 with a nice drinking window after that.
