We had been badgering our Somm supreme, "Ric Ecrane", to see if he could find us some DRC and low and behold he found what we suspect to be a counterfeit bottle of 1996 La Tache. The dead give away was the hastily crossed out Escarpment label and the Sharpie written "1996 DRC La Tache" over it. Names have been changed to protect the creatively innocent. Imagine our disappointment :). There was wine in the bottle, and I think it tasted like Pinot Noir from far south of the border.
