Sunday, November 25, 2018 - Opened and decanted 2 hours ahead of grilled filet. Dark, sappy purple color. Nose brings cassis liquor, cherry oak, and hints of olives. The palate is medium-full, round, and compact, bringing blackberries, blueberries, blackcurrant, rich milk chocolate, espresso bean, and hints of pipe tobacco into a finish is that is smooth with refined tannins. Still not completely accessible on the mid-palate so will be best after 2019+. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.
